Terms Of Use
Last updated: December 6th, 2025
1. Agreement to Our Terms
By accessing or using Lexdot (the “Platform”), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Platform immediately.
Unless otherwise specified, “you” means any user — whether as client, legal professional, or support provider — individually or on behalf of an entity.
2. What Lexdot Is — and Is Not
Lexdot is a global marketplace and collaboration platform connecting clients, licensed legal professionals, and support providers across jurisdictions.
Lexdot is not a law firm, does not provide legal services, and does not supervise the services provided by third-party professionals.
Engagements, advice, and services are directly between clients and providers. Lexdot only facilitates connection, collaboration, payment processing, and platform infrastructure.
3. User Eligibility & Registration
Users must be at least 13 years old (or older if required in their jurisdiction). Minors may use the Platform only with parental or guardian consent.
Registration requires accurate, complete, and up-to-date information. You are responsible for maintaining confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account.
4. Roles, Services & Compliance
Licensed professionals must be properly licensed in the jurisdictions where they offer services.
Non-licensed support providers (paralegals, researchers, writers, contract administrators, etc.) may offer support services — but must not provide legal advice, representation, or binding legal opinions in jurisdictions where they are not authorised.
You represent and warrant that you will comply with all applicable laws, professional regulations, and domain-specific rules (e.g. rules against unauthorized practice of law, or “UPL”).
5. Payments & Fees
Services between clients and providers are subject to payment through the Platform under the agreed terms.
Lexdot may charge platform or transaction fees as disclosed.
Lexdot is not responsible for disputes about quality, deadlines, or deliverables — these must be resolved directly between client and provider.
6. User Conduct and Prohibited Activities
You agree not to:
Violate applicable laws, regulations, or professional rules.
Use the Platform for fraudulent, abusive, harassing, defamatory or infringing activities.
Upload harmful code, malware, or unsolicited advertising or spam.
Misrepresent identity, qualifications, or licensure.
Attempt to copy, reverse-engineer, scrape or otherwise undermine the Platform’s services or IP.
Lexdot reserves the right to remove content or suspend accounts in its sole discretion.
7. Intellectual Property
Content and materials on Lexdot (software, design, branding, documentation) belong to Lexdot or its licensors.
You may use the content only as permitted and for non-commercial, internal use, unless otherwise agreed.
If you submit content (e.g. messages, documents, reviews), you grant Lexdot a worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable license to use, reproduce, modify, publish and display such content in any media format, for the purposes of operating the Platform.
8. Disclaimers, Warranties & Limitation of Liability
The Platform is provided “as is” and “as available.”
Lexdot makes no warranties as to accuracy, availability, legality or suitability of services performed by providers.
Lexdot is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential or punitive damages, loss of profits or data, or other losses arising from use of the Platform or services.
Maximum liability is capped: either the total fees you paid to Lexdot in the past 12 months, or a small fixed amount (e.g. USD 100), whichever is greater.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Lexdot (and its affiliates, employees, officers) from any claim, loss, liability, or expense arising from your violation of these Terms or your use of the Platform, including any unauthorized practice of law, misconduct, or breach of regulation.
10. Dispute Resolution & Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of [Insert Jurisdiction — e.g. England & Wales, or specified country depending on user’s location].
Disputes will first be handled through informal negotiation or internal resolution. Where permitted, unresolved disputes may be subject to binding arbitration.
11. Changes to Terms
Lexdot may amend these Terms at any time. Updated versions will take effect when posted. Your continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
